As the annual festival (23.02.2024) of St. Anthony's Church in Kachchadivu started with flag hoisting, 4454 Sri Lankans participated and Indians boycotted the festival.
St. Anthony's Church Festival in Kachchadivu started on 23.02.2024 evening with flag hoisting, Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration, and Trichorupa Bhavani. Annual Festival Tirupali Event 24.02.2024 at 7 am Jaffna. The dedication was presided over by Jeparatnam Adikalar, District Priest.
It is reported that while 4454 devotees from Sri Lanka participated in this festival, none of the Indian devotees came to insist on the release of the fishermen.
Health facilities, transport arrangements, and food facilities are arranged for the benefit of the devotees in the festival. The said festival was attended by high officials of the Navy, Secretaries of the President, the Jaffna District Governor, and many others
