9,000 dead and millions of displaced in Sudan conflict


 Thousands of civilians have been displaced by the fighting in Sudan between the army and paramilitary groups.
The UN Humanitarian Affairs Organization reports that the fighting in Sudan has claimed 9,000 lives. Over 60 million individuals have entered and exited Sudan. It is estimated that 2.5 crore people require assistance.

Over 5.4 lakh individuals have moved to South Sudan since April 2023. Foreign media reported a rise in the number of refugees as the crisis in Sudan intensified in mid-December.

Of this violence, 75 people, including 3 children, have perished in the last two weeks in the Abyei Special Administrative Region, which is home to many Sudanese refugees, according to reports released by the international humanitarian group Save the Children. 2,200 people have migrated, it claimed.
