The Legends Trophy Tour, which will feature players from numerous nations who have achieved the highest level of cricket and are referred to as legends, will make its debut in Sri Lanka on March 8 at Pallekala Stadium in Kandy.
These matches will take place over the course of 14 days. The trip began in Delhi the previous year, and it was a success.
In an attempt to win the trophy, celebrities and former cricket players are fielding seven teams this time.
LCT T20 League Pvt Limited is the one who founded the competition. Prominent athletes from Pakistan, India, the West Indies, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will be represented in these seven squads. The information was made public during the winning series' jersey and team releases. The Colombo Hilton Hotel served as the venue for the ceremony.
A former cricket player, Parveez Mahroob oversaw the player team assignment process. Thisara Perera and Saminda Vaas also participated in this. Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, Suresh Raina, Ben Dunk, Ross Railer, Johan Botha, Harbhajan Singh, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Sanath Jayasuriya, Misbah-ul-Haq, Ambati Rayudu, Twain Bravo, Thisara Perera, and Imran Khan are among the players who have been divided into seven teams. Tahir is also a part of it. The Rajasthan Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Punjab Royals, Kennedy Warriors, Colombo Lions, New York Super Star Strikers, and Dubai Giants are among the teams these players will be playing for.
'Last year's tour was quite successful,' said LCT Director Shivain Sharma in a media conference. The website for the wholly sponsored gaming app KhiladiX reported a 62 percent spike in visitors when it was launched exclusively. Sri Lanka is without a doubt the greatest option to host the series for a second time, especially in light of the previous series' success.
Similar to India, Sri Lankans are ardent cricket enthusiasts who like watching their heroes play. This is one of those occasions where viewers can witness great athletes at their peak, capable of bringing personality to the field. The pitch conditions in Sri Lanka are suitable for the 90-over short format.
