On February 8, 2024, at Army Headquarters, Lt. Gen. Wikum Lianake, the Chief of Army Staff, and Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahim Abdul Latif, the Chief of Defense of the Maldives National Defense Force, met as part of a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka. Both a military parade and a formal military welcome were given to him at the army headquarters entrance.
