More than 400 individuals were detained for attending the memorial service for Alexei Navalny.


 More than 400 individuals were detained for attending a memorial service for Russian opposition leader and ardent opponent of President Vladimir Putin, Alexei Navalny. According to his spokesperson Kier Yarmish, the 47-year-old Alexei Navalny's death was a homicide (17.02.2024).
In the meantime, memorial services honoring Navalny's life were organized in a number of Russian locations. According to a national human rights organization, around 400 participants were taken into custody.

He thereafter received care at Jomani. Jomani said that the Russian government had given the order to attack him with a deadly toxin known as "Novizok." But Russia refuted this. After a hard battle, Navalny, who was receiving therapy while unconscious, made it out of her coma.

Charged with ideological extremism, Navalny was sentenced to 19 years in prison and was allowed to return to Russia in 2021. The jail administration then declared that he passed away on February 16, 2024, as a result of an unexpected health crisis while confined. Simultaneously, Navalny's spokesperson Kier Yarmish declared his assassination.

In light of the approaching Russian presidential election in less than a month, there are now serious inquiries into the cause of Navalny's untimely demise.
