South Africa scored 242 runs while New Zealand scored 211 runs in the first innings. South Africa lost all of their wickets for 235 runs in the second innings, despite having a 31-run advantage. This gave New Zealand a target of 267 runs.
By the close of the third day (15.02.2024), New Zealand had amassed forty runs in 13.5 overs with one wicket lost.
While Tom Latham and Williamson played peacefully through the fourth day of the match, Latham was removed for thirty runs, and Ravindra was removed for twenty runs after that.
In his 98th Test match, Williamson finished with a century, demonstrating his exceptional skill on the other end of the bat. His performance was crucial to New Zealand's win. His companion, Will Young, also scored a half-century.
New Zealand won by seven wickets thanks to a masterful effort by the two players, who reached 269 for 3 in 94.2 overs. At 133, Kane Williamson was still undefeated, while Will Young was at 60.
