The farmers' unions have declared that they will stage a demonstration in Delhi, India, today, 13 March, highlighting a number of requests, among them the enforcement of the law pertaining to the establishment of a minimum profit price for produce.
Thus, Delhi has implemented a curfew. In order to stop farmers from the Punjab and Haryana borders from driving tractors into Delhi, barricades have been erected.
The administration and representatives of the farm unions had negotiations last night. In the roughly six hours that the talks lasted, no agreement was reached.
In this case, the farmers' associations declared that the rally would begin at 10 a.m. today, as scheduled. As a result, the farmers near the Punjab-Aryana border at Shambu have begun a protest.
