Retired IND player.

Even when he won the Man of the Match award for his century against the West Indies, the player was denied a chance in the Indian cricket team's playing eleven for a long time.
It is usually the dream of every Indian cricketer to get the cap of the Indian cricket team. In this country full of talented players, many of the best players have not got the chance to play in the Indian team till the end. Many players have expressed their frustration after their retirement.

Manoj Tiwari is among the players who were rejected despite their talent, like Ambati Rayudu, Badrinath, and Dinesh Karthik. Manoj Tiwary did not get a Test cap till the end after getting his debut in the Indian ODI team in 2008 and the Indian T20 team in 2011. Apart from that, he was also denied a chance in other formats for 15 matches.

In this case, Manoj Tiwari expressed his apprehension that he wanted to ask Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was the captain at the time, why he did not give me a chance when he scored more than 10,000 runs in first-class cricket and scored runs whenever he got a chance. He announced his retirement yesterday after a 14-year career in cricket.

Speaking at a press conference after announcing his retirement, Manoj Tiwari expressed his regret that not getting a Test cap after representing India in ODIs and T20Is was his biggest regret.

Speaking at a press conference, Manoj Tiwary said, “When I finished playing 65 first-class matches, my batting average was 65. Then the Australian team was touring India and I scored 130 runs against Australia in a friendly in Chennai. Then I scored 93 in a friendly against England. I felt very close to the test cap then. But then they chose Yuvraj Singh instead of me.

Even when I won the Man of the Match award for scoring a century... I was ignored not once but 14 times. "When a player's confidence is at its peak, someone destroys it, then that's where the player ends," Manoj Tiwary expressed his apprehension.

When the reporter questioned him about this answer, he said, "I want to ask you directly, MS Dhoni was the captain then."

Tiwari replied yes, “Yes, M.S. Dhoni was the captain. If I get a chance to ask him a question, I would like to ask why I was dropped from the team even after scoring a century. Especially in that tour of Australia, nobody scored runs, not even Virat Kohli, not even Rohit Sharma or Suresh Raina. Even then I was not taken, now I have nothing to lose,” Manoj Tiwari said in frustration as quoted by News18.
