Vijay, an actor, abruptly altered the name of his party.

 The actor Vijay declared his intention to enter politics and founded the Tamilaka Vetri Kazhagam party. On the second, Vijay formally declared the party's launch. He had declared that the party will reveal its flag and insignia as soon as the Election Commission provides its clearance.

In this case, other parties also objected on social media that there was an error in the party's name, even though numerous Tamil activists pointed out that the letter "K" was missing from the name of the organization, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam.

Actor Vijay then consented to change the name of his party to "Tamilaka Vetri Kazhagam" by adding a "k."

'K' has been added to the party's official social media profiles, which are now called 'Tamilika vetrik Kazhagam'.
