World record holder for marathon Kelvin Kiptum passes away in an accident

Kenyan Member of Parliament Gideon Kimayo verified on his X page that world record marathon runner Kelvin Kipdam and his coach had perished in an accident in Kenya.

At the Chicago Marathon in October of last year, the 24-year-old Kipdam set a new world record with a time of two hours and 35 seconds. In 2023, he broke the record when he finished the London Marathon in two hours, one minute, and twenty-five seconds.
