Anura Kumara and the Japanese ambassador to Sri Lanka met.

On March 19, 2024, Anurakumara Dissanayake, the leader of the People's Liberation Front, and Misukoshi Hideki, the Japanese ambassador to Sri Lanka, met in the morning at the party headquarters in Vellawatta, Sri Lanka.

Vice President Katsuki Kotaro of the Japanese Embassy, Second Secretary Imai Gowri, and Vijitha Herath of the Sri Lankan People's Liberation Front National Executive Committee were present at the meeting.

Both parties engaged in a thorough discussion of Sri Lanka's present political and economic circumstances, with special emphasis on the impending presidential election.

The diplomatic delegates from Japan were also briefed on the People's Liberation Front's stance. There are reports that the Japanese delegation stressed how willing Japan is to invest in Sri Lanka.
