Demanding the release of detainees from Vedukunarimalai, Sri Lanka, there is a protest at Tirumala.

A vigil was conducted in front of the Trincomalee Sivan Temple on the evening of March 17, 2024, to denounce and demand the release of those responsible for the Vedukunari Hill event.
During the demonstration that social activists planned,

"Release the eight persons who were arrested while worshiping at the Vedukunari Hill Shiva Temple on the 8th of last Shivratri."

"Worship is our basic right, Adi Shiva temple is our origin"

"Don't usurp the religious leaders of Eelam, don't plant Buddhism under the guise of archeology"

"Who gave the police the right to stop worship, and immediately release the temple administrators"

"Temples are the native identity of Saivite Tamils" was one of the placard messages they carried.
The fact that over a hundred people took part in this is remarkable.
