India: Early on March 15, 2024, in the early hours of the Jaffna-Karaigar sea, the Sri Lankan Navy detained fifteen fishermen from Nagapattinam.
The aforementioned fisherman were detained while fishing illegally across the border.
The Water Resources Department will receive the fishermen who have been apprehended. It is later stated that a lawsuit will be brought by the Department of Water Resources against the fishermen in court.
