First Sikh Minister of Punjab Province.

Sikh has been selected as a minister for the Pakistani province of Punjab for the first time.
Following last month's elections, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, emerged victorious with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and other political factions.

Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz's daughter, assumed leadership as the province's chief minister. She was appointed as the province's first female chief minister. In this instance, the province's Minister of Minority Welfare, Chhattar Ramesh Singh Arora (07.03.2024), a member of the legislature who defected from the PML-N, assumed leadership. The Punjab province is now led by a Sikh minister for the first time.
