Stephen Kissa of Uganda has secured his spot in the 2024 Olympics after placing second in the 25.02.2024 Osaka Marathon in Japan.
Kissa, the current marathon record holder for Uganda, came in second place to Kyoto Hirabayashi of Japan, who ran 2:06.18 in 2:06.22.
"We are thrilled that Kissa has kept becoming faster and is practically guaranteed a spot in the Olympic qualifying round. Dominic Oduset of Uganda stated, "Kissa has now moved to second place in the top six athletes to qualify for the Olympics."
