Born in Moganur, in the Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu, Natarajan Chandrasekaran is currently the chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata group of companies.
He earned a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology. He then attended the Regional College of Engineering in Trichy to get an MCA degree. Following this, in 1987, he started working as a trainee at Tata Consultancy Services.

Later, in 2007, he was named Chief Operating Officer (COO) in recognition of his abilities. Following this, he became the CEO of Tata Consultancy in 2009.

Among the wealthiest firms on the stock market is Tata Sons. This indicates that investors in the 27 Tata Group stocks that are traded on the Indian stock exchange have made almost Rs 6 lakh crore in profit.

In 2019, his salary was Rs. 65 crore; by 2022, it had risen to Rs. 109 crore.

As a result, Mukesh Ambani purchased a duplex apartment in the Mumbai neighborhood of Antilia in 2022 for Rs. 98 crore.
