Alexei Navalny, a prominent figure in the Russian opposition, will be laid to rest on March 1, 2024, in Moscow, according to his spokesperson.
His funeral is scheduled for the afternoon of March 1, 2024, at the church located in Merino, a neighborhood in the southeast of Moscow. According to Kira Yarmish, a spokesman for Alexey, the body will be interred in a local cemetery.
The 47-year-old Navalny, a staunch opponent of both the Putin administration and the Russian government, was imprisoned in an isolated facility in the Arctic area of Russia. As the presidential election drew near, the Russian government declared that Navalny had passed away while incarcerated.
Opposition parties and Western nations claim that Navalny was slain by Putin's government. Although Navalny's cause of death remains unknown, his body was not given to his family right away.
