On March 7, 2024, in Dharamsala, the fifth and final Test match between India and England got underway.
After winning the toss, the English side bowled in accordance with their position. The Indian side's spin game got the England team, as they lost every wicket for 218 runs. The England squad had a strong start. Duckett and Crawley shared 64 runs for the first wicket. Both were broken by Kuldeep Yadav. They dropped one wicket, then another, after taking the first one. England lost wickets mostly because Kuldeep was unable to play the over.
In addition to taking five wickets with his excellent bowling, Kuldeep also set a new record. Kuldeep has therefore set a record for being the Indian player in Test matches to take 50 wickets in the fewest deliveries. Prior to this, Bumrah claimed 50 wickets in 2530 deliveries and Akshar Patel claimed 50 wickets in 2205 balls. I think Kuldeep Yadav smashed this. Kuldeep only needed to bowl 1871 balls to break this record.
