The son of a real telecom magnate is a monk. The only son of Aircel Chairman Ananda Krishna, Ven Ajan Siripanyo, has decided to live a life of austerity despite having the chance to become the world's first billionaire and the exclusive owner of 40,000 crores.

Anandakrishnan, referred to as "AK" in the telecom industry, is estimated to be worth close to $5 billion. The equivalent in Indian rupees is 40,000 crore. In addition to being the owner of Aircel, the top telecom provider in India, he also operates a business named Czar.

His only son Siripanio, who once held a steadfast position in the telecom industry, has decided to live as a Buddhist monk and has given up a life of luxury.

Siribanyo, a Tamil native, was destined to head Anandakrishnan's multibillion-dollar business. They own media, oil, gas, real estate, and satellite businesses in addition to telecom.
