The Test series was won by India.

India made a record by winning the Test series and defeated England by 5 wickets in the fourth Test.
Beginning the fourth day of the fourth Test match between India and England was the Rohit Sharma-Jaiswal combo. By the conclusion of the third day, the Indian side had amassed 40 runs without losing a wicket, compared to the England team's aim of 192 runs. On the first day of the fourth session, Rohit Sharma struck a six off Anderson's ball.

The Indian team's two players added runs rapidly, as the win drew nearer. Jaiswal was bowled out for 37 by Joe Root after they had shared 84 runs for the first wicket. But Rohit Sharma's half-century offered encouragement. However, Tom Hartley stumped him as well, and he was out for 55 runs.

Sarbaras Khan ducked out, Rajat Pattidar was out for zero, and Ravindra Jadeja was out for four. The Indian team lost five wickets in a span of 36 runs as a result. Thus, the Indian team needed to win by 72 runs, and the English team needed to win by 5 wickets. The Ranchi stadium was perceived as crowded as a result.

Then Subman Gill and Dhruv Jurel, two-second innings specialists, worked together to accumulate runs in a composed and untroubled manner. To avoid striking a boundary in more than 30 overs, England's bowlers exercised discipline when bowling. In the 31st over, Dhruv Jurel struck a boundary to put a stop to this. Ben Stokes altered his fielding strategy, on the one hand, to prevent hitting boundaries.

However, Subman Gill and Dhruv Jurel both began to add runs with ease. As a result, the Indian squad scored more than 160 runs. As long as everything remained quiet, the Indian side was almost certain to win. Subman Gill reached his fifty after hitting two consecutive sixes when the Indian team needed twenty runs. The Indian team won when Dhruv Jurrell scored the final six runs.

The Indian team won by five wickets as a result. Dhruv Jurel scored 39 runs and Subman Gill scored 52 runs to secure the win from the field until the very end. In addition, they enjoy a 3-1 advantage in the Test series versus England. The Indian team now holds the distinction of being the one that has won a Test series at home without dropping a game in twelve years.
