Twelve significant beaches have been designated as "Blue Flag Beach" locations.

An international environmental award known as "Blue Flag Beach" is given to countries that demonstrate a commitment to preserving and enhancing their marine and coastal environments.
The Marine Environment Protection Authority states that 12 significant beaches in Sri Lanka have been chosen to adopt the "Blue Flag Beach" concept.

As a result, it was informed that the required actions are currently being taken to restore four beaches in Sri Lanka to their original state of operation.

Under the direction of Sri Lanka Member of Parliament Ajith Mannaperuma, the departmental monitoring committee convened on the twentieth of last month.

A conversation about the idea of "Blue Flag Beach," which attempts to preserve the Sri Lanka coastlines in order to draw tourists, took place during this.

Notably, this information was provided during a discussion on the "Blue Flag Coast" issue by the Departmental Oversight Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Sustainable Development.
